BOOK CLUB! Fall Reads
With it being back to school season and back to work, I’m sure the last thing you want is a reading list. But as I’ve gotten older, reading has become a hobby instead of a chore. There are so many amazing books out there that really take you out of reality and into another world.
Whenever I watch TV it’s easy to pick up my phone and get distracted. So for me, reading is really that time that I can unplug from everything and it’s such an important part of my life now!
I’m obsessed with thrillers and page turners so it’s definitely what I gravitate towards. I’m not big on self help books because they make me feel more anxious than the opposite and I’d rather just disconnect into someone else’s life than my own! So I put together a list of books I love and books I just bought that I’m excited to read! Join the secret Facebook group so we can all discuss them together!
This is the best book I’ve read since The Couple Next Door. By the best, I mean I truly was not expecting the events to unfold the way they did. I love settings in books that are super luxurious and fun and this definitely brings that. The Last Mrs. Parrish is about a woman who is done being the underdog and gets in with the rich but maybe gets in a little too far…
This book is so well done. I loved the characters and the way the chapters went back and forth between them. It is written by the same woman as Big Little Lies and you can definitely tell. It helped me really imagine what this world was like. There are so many secrets and the ending is crazy. I love that the author really wraps up the end with all the ‘what if’s’ and ‘what could’ve been’s’ if the characters made different decisions which you rarely get from a book.
This book was recently turned into a TV show and recommended to me by my cousin. It seems like an intense thriller in today’s day utilizing the digital space to track someone down. I’m excited to see if this one gives me the creeps!
A lot of you recommended this to me on my Instagram story and it’s the same author as Gone Girl which was the best movie ever. It isn’t too long which I was surprised by so I’m excited to read it. The show on HBO is a hit but seemed really dark for me to watch alone and I’d rather read it to be honest!!
My cousin also told be about this book (she has great taste if you can’t tell) and apparently it’s one of the best psychological thrillers so I was IN right away. Haven’t read it yet but it is already being turned into a movie and people compare it to Gone Girl and Girl on The Train aka the best!
